This is a premier accounting degree accredited by the major professional accounting bodies in Australia (eg CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand). In this degree, students develop accounting-focused skills and knowledge relevant to professional accounting practices as well as for a range of other business occupations. Students develop specialised knowledge, technical and soft skills and their application in analysing, projecting, judging, solving and communicating accounting information to a broad range of stakeholders on a variety of resource allocation and investment decisions. The degree comprises a set of core units in accounting, auditing, information systems, economics, finance, business, statistics and law that ensure graduates meet the entry requirements of the above professional accounting bodies. In addition, students can complete optional majors to develop specific skills in particular industries and occupations, or choose elective units from other areas and disciplines of the University.
