Step boldly into the vibrant world of fashion, business and styling with this diploma level qualification. This hands-on program is designed for emerging creatives who are ready to shape the future of fashion. From concept development and styling techniques to commercial strategy, this course equips students with the tools to turn your passion into a profession. Students will gain strong foundations in fashion design, business and styling, colour theory, textile knowledge and illustration, while developing their ability to forecast trends, create compelling visual merchandising displays, and build brand identities. The degree course offers students a unique opportunity to study fashion. A major strength of this course is its position within a specialist design, visual arts, and multi-media institution with the potential for students to work alongside other cultural and creative disciplines. The course prepares students for a career in the highly competitive fashion industry by ensuring that graduates have the vocabulary and industry knowledge they need to succeed. Students in this course are expected to be autonomous and have a strong work ethic, focused and highly motivated. The course is located in a dynamic and creative studio environment. Individual development is supported and nurtured through experimentation, exploration and innovation.

Note

This combined qualification leads to the awards of the Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and Textiles and Bachelor of Creative Industries (Applied Fashion). The degree is delivered by TAFE Queensland in partnership with the University of Canberra. Applicants offered a place in the certificate III/diploma courses who are not eligible for a subsidised enrolment will pay full fee. VET Student Loans may be available to eligible applicants for study in the diploma, refer to tafeqld.edu.au/study-with-us/what-it-costs/index.html for information. The degree is a Commonwealth supported place.
