This is a two-year teacher preparation degree for students who already hold a tertiary degree. Students will be qualified to teach in all areas of the primary curriculum across Prep to Year 6. Students undertaking an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) degree are required to successfully complete the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) in order to graduate and must pass the Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA).

Prior study; Teaching area study requirements
Applicants must have successfully completed an approved bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than Education from a recognised tertiary institution with a cumulative GPA of 4.5 or higher. Teaching area study requirements means at least one year of full time (or equivalent) study in areas relevant to one or more learning areas of the primary school curriculum in Australian schools must be completed. Learning areas of the primary school curriculum may include: the arts; English; geography; health and physical education; history; information and communication technology (ICT); mathematics; science.
